Guinea pigs are simple animals, and they are easy to take care of.

Diet/Feeding:

They can’t eat some greens. They can’t eat or drink… iceberg lettuce, high fat treats, chocolate, sugar, caffeine, and alcohol.

Things you should remember when feeding your guinea pigs is that they must have fresh food, timothy hay, and water available at all times. You should give them a limited amount of fruits and veggies every day. If your guinea pigs does not eat their food with in 24 hours it should be thrown out.

Cage/Housing:

When you get a cage you need 1 to 2 inches of bedding. You should not use wood shavings or cedar-based shavings, but you can use high-quality paper bedding or shredded paper bedding. You should keep the same gender in the same cage.

Grooming/Hygiene

Guinea pigs rarely need baths, but can be washed with a damp washcloth. Their fur needs to be brushed with a soft-backed brush. Guinea pig nails need to be clipped about once a month.

This information should help when you get a guinea pig.
